Now that MARARTHON has officially taken its own life, there are a few things I’d like to get off my chest. I mean, they’ve bothered me for something like a year. That’s a long time if you think about it. (Also, I have the gift of Bourbon, so truth is coming more naturally to me at the moment.)

04:30:45 <Camptown Ferret> well the admin are dicks
04:31:04 <Camptown Ferret> i think i got banned from the pfhorums for asking if they could add a japanese section
04:31:06 <bLu> yeah
04:31:14 <bLu> oh ok
04:31:20 <Camptown Ferret> like i cant connect to it anymore
…They just aren’t very bright.
New advents in CLIQUE connectivity (e.g., CLIQUEpedia) have given rise to more evidence as to One Way’s whereabouts. Our sights our currently set on Falko (AIM: fafalconaim, later thefalconaim), who we actually have logged in the act of distributing and accepting my critique on One Way, along with others in the same pack. This includes the now-infamous line
17:16 | cb4nova: There was this pillar of water that didn’t /go/ anywhere.
I don’t want to risk the fiasco we had last time, so I won’t ask that you all participate in some grand campaign to squeeze One Way out of him; with any luck, he’ll admit his guilt and come quietly. Just keeping you all informed.
I thought this was funny as hell, and I’m bored, so here you go. See if you can tell who the idiot is.

2008/11/14 17:29:22 <ukimalefu> MARATHON STORY FORUM FOREVAH!
There has been quite a bit of chatter about Ray on the metaserver and it seems he is quickly becoming the most popular person in the community. Or at least the most talked about. I could write something about him, but why don’t I just let the community speak for itself.

It took me long enough. Part of the issue I had was that I have my own domain now, and I was too lazy to move the IRC-related stuff to my new site. So here we go: this month’s stats are located right next to the all-time stats and everything else.
This transition also obviously indicates that the original spylog is now located at the new and protected irc.jonirons.net.
It’s a place where this makes sense:
18:41 <@Wrkncacnter> ONE FAILURE
18:41 <+jon_irons> dark rooms: are hux a bad CLIQUE habit
18:41 <@RyokoTK> CLIQUE: are hux a bad dark room habit?
18:41 <@RyokoTK> (heh heh heh)
18:41 < ahuxley> dead end dark room would be bad
18:41 <@treellama> olmec
Before the #alephone IRC channel became as “popular” as it is today, and before a metaserver existed to allow people to play games easily, there was the Aleph One chat room on the AOL Instant Messenger servers. These were interesting times, when Ryoko was just beginning to test Red Spectrum publicly, when I was wreaking havoc with AORPG, and when W’rkncacnter was being the best keyboarder on earth. Then we got the meatserver and the chat room suddenly became locked.
Thanks to Appleswitch, I now have in my possession chat logs from that period of time, intermittent conversations from April 29 to October 12 2005. I’ve converted them to slightly more readable HTML and split the giant text file into daily digests. You can read the HTML here, and if you’re hard-core, you can pick up the text file here (~764kb, BZipped).
After some odd downtime, the spy log has returned with a vengeance, running via my constant IRC connection on the newly-christened boretower. There’s a gap of nearly a week, but I think you’ll forgive me. Thanks to Thermo for getting my ass moving on that one.
